T.G.I.F.

Run away boys! You're free! This was my last class of the day: two sweethearts at an awkward age. Doesn't the boy on the right look like he's wearing prison clothes? (Aptly so.)

I asked them if they were starring in a Royal Tenenbaums sequel:

The boy on the right looks like he is going bowling after school.

Great blog.

I hope they enjoy their youth before it gets bad. It's harsh for students in Korea. They get up, go to school all day (sometimes even on Saturdays), then they're forced to go to private academies rest of the day. Then they come home, study more and it starts all over the next day. No wonder South Korea got the highest teen suicide rate in the world. People are nuts about getting their children into the best colleges and they begin to exert pressure starting in preschool. You know what's considered a badge of honor among students? A bloody nose from over-studying. I empathize with them these days, damn you bar exam!

Roy, yes I think it's terrible. Childhood should be the happiest time in one's life. They should be building forts and feeding dolls bottles!!

Supersoulfly ("supersoulfly!??") hahaha... Yes- bowling- my first thought. Just figured the 'prison' allusion might better tie in w/ the educational system

Hi Eva!
I've got a lot to say about the topic of kids in Korea, the educational system, etc...but I think it would be better if I e-mailed you instead of posting a comment about it! LOL!

Let's just say, we've had some pretty bad experiences with one of our students as of late. More on that later! ;)

supersoulfly - The name will seem more appropriate when I move to Seoul. Funny enough I have been using the username since I was a teen.

Thanks for answering my questions I emailed you this week.

Hey Chrissy, I'd love to hear it, and I'd be honoured if you'd link me on your blog.
