Amusement Park & Samgyetang

Woncheon Amusement park is built on a resevoir in Suwon. Tae Hun and I went for a walk on the semi-abandonned grounds before enjoying Korean health food: samgyetang.

Samgyetang: gingseng chicken soup, is traditional Korean health food- often served at dog meat restaurants. A chicken stuffed with sweet rice sits in a broth of ginseng, garlic, and chestnuts. Ours came with kimchi sidedishes. A bowl costs about 10USD. This restaurant was located near Ajou University, but you can find quality samgyetang just about anywhere:

  3. I know a Japanese girl named Hiroko in Seoul, too, if only peripherally. What are the odds?

How's the McCarthy book? I loved All the Pretty Horses, Suttree and The Crossing, which happen to account for everything of his that I've read. Your review of The Road, please.

  8. Dude! They have Thanksgiving in Canada, but they celebrate it at actual harvest time instead of late November like we do. It's the second Monday in October.

Whoa! I love this place! I studied at Ajou University for a year (2002-2003)and frequented this place whenever I was sick or low on energy. I think the ginseng does wonders for the body.

I love your blog! It brings back great memories of Korea and Suwon. =)
