It just looks like one of those cute Japanese anime characters. If you look closely, what seems to be the "chipmunk's" ears is actually a hairband. I think your student was just trying to say that you look as cute as a anime character.
Could have been much worse. One of my students has decided that I'm in love with a blue marker. I am greeted by a picture of me getting married to a blue marker on the white board, on her homework, and on her classwork everyday.
The marker thing was innocent. The children were suppose to write an advertisement for a product. I was showing them an example by trying to sell them my blue marker. I kept telling them how great my blue marker was and she turned into me being in love with it. That was three weeks ago. Today she was drawing a picture of the blue marker wearing a wedding dress in her textbook.
